CONSOLATION CHAMPS - SILVERSTICK
The Rebels edged the Saugeen Storm early this morning 1-0 at the 2016 International Silver Stick Caitlyn Cobean Memorial Tournament at the Port Elgin Plex to take the Consolation Final.

It was an exciting, evenly matched game that took the sting out of the early morning start as the game had the stands on their feet to cheer on these young girls as the played their hearts out on the ice.  Claire Torrie scored the lone game winning goal with an assist by Hennessy Koeslag.  Jessa Rutter recorded her first shut-out by making some key saves with help from her strong defensive players.  Addison Teeter was chosen as the game MVP for her hard efforts that caused the breakout that enabled our Rebels Goal.

In addition to our consolation win, here are some highlights to note from our round robin play earlier in the tournament:
Our young Rebels recorded two loses against a couple of strong teams (North Halton Twisters & North Middlesex Stars) and a 2-2 tie against the Saugeen Shores team.  Tina Johnson scored 2 unassisted goals against the Saugeen Shores Storm during round robin play.  Claire Torrie added a single with an assist from Chloe Stephen meanwhile Jessa Rutter added to the excitement with her penalty shot goal with only 27 seconds left in our game against the North Halton Twisters. Chocolate Puck Game MVP's in round robin action were awarded to  Jessa Rutter, Lila Warrilow and Jalaynah Moore for their all their hard work on the ice.

Thanks to goaltenders Tina Johnson, Bree Wilkins and Jessa Rutter for their phenomenal effort while minding the Rebels net over the weekend.

Congratulations on your Consolation Win Rebels ~ well deserved!
