Our TCDMHA Novice C Girls Rebels faced off against the Walkerton Capitals last night in our final regular season game.
The Rebels came out strong and battled hard but Walkerton got the 1st goal with 6 seconds left in the 1st period. Our Rebels continued play hard and had some great chances throughout the 2nd period with lots of back and forth action but Walkerton continued to hold their 1-0 lead.
Finally, early in the 3rd period, Rebel Claire Torrie scored to tie it up with help from Tina Johnson who managed to get the puck all the way up the ice from our defensive end. Our girls kept the game tied 1-1 until Walkerton's Gabby Widmeyer managed to sneak two back to back goals into the Rebels net at 4:09 and 4:02 respectively in the 3rd period.
Despite our girl's last ditch efforts, they were unable to recover and the score remained 3-1 for the Capitals.
Way to go Julia Mountain for doing a fantastic job as our Rebels goalie and keeping the game close with some awesome saves.
