HOME OPENER for Novice "C" GIRLS
It was a busy weekend for our TCDMHA Novice C girls team. On Saturday, November 14, we hosted the Walkerton Capitals for our very first home game of the season. The girls kept it close at the start but Walkerton slowly pulled away during the 2nd and 3rd periods with a final score 5-1. Bree Wilkins scored the lone goal for the Rebels with an assist from Claire Torrie.
Then, on Sunday, November 15, our young team travelled to Owen Sound and faced a strong Ice Hawks team. The seasoned Owen Sound Ice Hawks put on the pressure right from the start of the game and took a commanding lead. However, by the third period our Rebels started to find their groove and managed to get two goals late in the game. Congratulations to Tina Johnson and Claire Torrie for getting their first goals of the season and goaltender Jessa Rutter for several stellar saves over the weekend. Final score was 14-2 for the Owen Sound Ice Hawks.
