Wingham Midget SilverStick action
The Kuhl Machine Shop Midget Rep Rebels faced off against some stiff competition at the Wingham Regional SilverStick.
Game one saw the Rebels playing the eventual champions South Bruce Blades. After a scoreless first period, the Blades erupted for 5 second period goals on their way to a 7-1 victory. James Early, from Josh Batterman, accounted for the lone Rebel goal.
The Rebels played the defending champion St George Generals in their second game. The Generals jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Rebels responded with two quick goals early in the second but the Generals added 3 goals in 3 minutes late in the second to take a 5-2 lead into the intermission. The Generals added to their lead in the third and took the game 8-3. Branson Thalen with two and Batterman scored for the Rebels. Assists went to Mitchell McComb, Owen Torrie, Nate Schwatrz and Luke Miller.
The boys were determined to get into the win column in their final tourney game against Flesherton. Despite a late flurry the Rebels were unable to get the tying marker and fell 3-2 to the Golden Hawks. Jake Roney and Torrie netted the Rebel goals. Assisting was Schwartz, Miller, Bryden Thalen and Devin Ackroyd.
The boys next game is Tuesday November 24th in Chatty against the Hanover Falcons.
