It was a sad day for the 'Country Charm Mennonite Furniture' Bantam C Rebels as they played their last game of the season with teammate Reese Wilkins.
Reese leaves this week for a 3 month exchange to France and will miss the remainder of the season with the Rebels.
The girls shut-out the Rams on Saturday in Mount Forest before heading to the celebration in Reese's honour.
The defence kept control in our end and sent the puck flying at the Mount Forest goalie every chance they got. The offence kept the pressure on and spread their 3 goals evenly over 3 periods.
Reese Wilkins got them going with a pass to Joren Wilcox, who drove hard to the net and shot bottom corner at 7:34.
Kenna McKee forwarded the puck onto Maddy Vokes, who went in alone and slipped it in 5-hole at 2:54.
After missing an open net earlier, Jade Gilchrist took the pass from Kirsten Sutter in the slot and "let it rip, top cheese with authority" (says coach Kevin) assist going to Grace Kivell at 14:15.
Tatem Edwards recorded the shut-out in net for the Rebels.
This now mighty team of 9 skaters will join the Novice, Peewee and Midget C teams in the Caitlyn Cobean Memorial Silver Stick Tournament in Saugeen Shores next weekend to represent TCDMHA.
