Amazing Team Work ... a Hat-Trick ... and a Shut-Out
Jade Gilchrist lead the 'Country Charm Mennonite Furniture' Bantam C Rebels with a Hat-Trick tonight in Southampton, when the girls took on the undefeated Saugeen Shores B Team.

After a great practice last night, the girls showed up tonight focused and ready to play.
The Storm came out strong in the 1st period, but the entire Rebels squad worked hard back-checking and fore-checking, slowing down the Storm's offence.  Ashlynn Stephenson was awesome in our net!

The Rebels started the 2nd period with a man advantage and our offence came alive.  At 14:45 Kirsten Sutter carried the puck over the blue line, passed to Reese Wilkins who took the shot and Jade Gilchrist was right there to put the rebound into the net.
Morgan Moran fired a shot from the point and Kirsten and Jade made sure it found the back of the net at 3:51, to end the period up by 2.

The 3rd period was more than any of us could have imagined, since no team has scored more than 2 goals on this dominant Saugeen Shores team so far this season...
The girls kept the pressure on the Storm's net and at 12:38 Kirsten made a creative backhand pass to Jade who fired a one-timer high into the net to complete her Hat-trick! (Maddy Vokes earned an assist)
With a Rebel in the box, our 4 skaters continued to battle in our end and managed to clear the puck down to the other end.  In a one-on-one race down the ice Grace (BIRTHDAY GIRL) Kivell out hustled the Storm defence, picked up the puck and tucked it in behind the goalie at 8:50.
With a 4 on 3 advantage a couple of minutes later, Emma Watson passed D to D to Morgan who took the shot on net.  Joren Wilcox was there to tip it in at 6:33.

The Storm pulled their goalie with 2 minutes left on the clock for a 6 on 5, determined to ruin the shut-out.  Ashlynn made a few more timely saves and with the puck cleared out of our end, Kirsten pushed her way through 2 Storm defence, got tripped, got up and forged ahead to bury the empty netter at 0:34.

Final Score: 6 - 0 ... and by far the best these REBELS have played this year (2016).

We will be representing TCDMHA at the 'South Huron PINK ON THE RINK' Tournament this weekend ... along with the Novice C, Atom C, Peewee C and Midget B Girls teams.

GO - REBELS - GO
