McCauley Leads Rebels to Victory
Connor McCauley scored two goals on Sunday to lead the Kuhl Machine Shop Midget Rep Rebels to their second victory against the Zurich Thunder in the OMHA DD/D quarter-finals.
The Rebels defeated the Thunder by a score of 5-2 in game two of this best of five series. Scoring the first goal of the game was Jordan Baumber (assisted by Joel Delleman and Jacob Roney) to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead. Zurich tied the game at one before McCauley scored his first goal to once again give the Rebels the lead. McCauley followed this with his second goal (assisted by Kai Hiemstra). Josh Batterman scored the fourth Rebels goal (assisted by Hiemstra) and Joel Delleman scored the fifth (assisted by Morgan Ottewell). Zurich was able to capitalize a five on three power play to score their second goal of the game.
Game three of this series is Monday, February 16 at 2 pm in Zurich.
