Great Start in OMHA Quarter Finals
The Kuhl Machine Shop Midget Rep Rebels hosted the Zurich Thunder on Friday, Feb. 13 for game one of their DD-D OMHA Playdowns. The Rebels defeated the Thunder by a score of 6-2 to take the lead in this best of five series.
By the end of the first period, four Rebel players scored, giving the team a 4-0 lead. Scoring were Connor McCauley (unassisted), Joel Delleman, with a deflection from a shot by Bryden Thalen (assisted by Josh Batterman), Cameron Stryker (assisted by Delleman and McCauley) and Kai Hiemstra (assisted by Brendan Batterman and Jacob Roney).
The Thunder made the score 4-1 in the second period, which was quickly followed by a return goal by the Rebels with a shot from Joel Delleman (assisted by Nathan Schwartz). The Thunder then scored their second, and last goal of the game to make the score 5-2 at the end of the second.
In the third period, Stryker scored his second goal of the game (assisted by Delleman) for a final tally of 6-2 in favour of the Rebels.
Game two is Saturday night at 8 pm in Zurich. The Rebels will then host the Thunder for game three on Sunday, February 15 at 3 pm in Chatsworth.
