REBELS battle the WARRIORS and WIN
It was a WIN at home for the HAROLD SUTHERLAND CONSTRUCTION PeeWee REP Rebels as they hosted the West Grey Warriors in WOAA Playoff action Wednesday night.
After a scoreless 1st period, and almost a complete 2nd ... West Grey found the back of our net with a minute left in the period.
The REBELS came back from the break with new energy and Hunter Schultz wasted no time putting the puck in the net assisted by Josh Currie and Cory Rasmussen at 14:47.
Both teams took their share of penalties (breaking in the rookie score keeper) and both teams were able to capitalize on the man advantage.
First, Austin McComb scored on a power-play at 11:41 with a shot from the point that just missed the net, but bounced straight back out and went off the goalie into the net.
The Warriors tied it up again on their power-play at 7:55, but Nick Garrett put the REBELS ahead with a quick goal 8 seconds later assisted by Brandon Lindstrom and Josh.
The time ticked away and we ended up short-handed for the final seconds, but the boys held on.
Robbie Hann was solid in our net and recorded the 3 - 2 WIN.
