GREAT START IN GODERICH . . .
The HAROLD SUTHERLAND CONSTRUCTION PeeWee REP boys blew into Goderich today and did some serious damage ... to the scoreboard.

Game 1 of the Young Canada Tournament was against the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs (and after our OMHA playoff series ... this one was personal).
Spencer McKay stunned us all with a quick goal just 15 seconds after the puck dropped, but the boys fought back and set up a couple nice goals of their own before the end of the 1st period.
Jake Moran passed the puck from behind the net out to Austin McComb at the point.  His shot went straight to the net and Calvin Stewart was there to deflect it in.
In the final minute, Josh Currie passed over to Nick Garrett who cleared our end and sailed down to score.
Early in the 2nd, Hunter Schultz increased the lead with the help of Calvin and Jake, but AE answered back with their final goal of the game to end the period 3-2.
The REBELS took control of the 3rd and added 3 more goals.
Jake started it off on a pass from Calvin,
Hunter buried his second of the game, assisted by Austin and Brandon Lidstrom, and
Calvin finished it off assisted by Jake and Hunter.
Robbie Hann was awesome in net and our strong defence were on their game.
FINAL SCORE 6 - 2 and earned 4.5 points.

Game 2 against the Milverton Drives finished with a SHUT OUT Win.
Owen Mackison earned the shut out and the defence ruled again.
Nick scored the lone goal in the 1st period just 38 seconds in with a long shot from the blue line, assisted by Josh.
The REBELS kept it going, scoring 4 in the 2nd and 3 more in the 3rd.
Cory pinched in, got control of the puck and from behind the Drives net got a pass out to Nick who was ready with a one timer high into the net.
Jake passed across to Calvin and he went down and scored a minute later.
Mitch Stevens fired a shot into the net from the point, assisted by Jake and Calvin, and
Jake skated down and scored 5-hole, assisted by Hunter and Austin to end the period 5 - 0.
Josh opened the 3rd with a beauty assisted by Nick and Brandon.
Nick completed his hat-trick (short handed) on a pass from Josh, and
Owen made at least 3 amazing saves in the scramble as the penalty kill ended and Cory cleared the puck out to Jake who went down and scored the final goal of the game with 48 seconds left on the clock.
FINAL SCORE 8 - 0 and earned all 5 points.

They have their final round robin game on Saturday @ 2:50pm with the Lucknow Sepoys.
