OMHA Playdowns CUT SHORT with 2 O.T. losses
It was a heart breaking weekend for the HAROLD SUTHERLAND CONSTRUCTION PeeWee REP team as they suffered 2 Over Time losses to the AEMHA IceDogs to end their chance to move on in the OMHA Playdowns.
These evenly matched teams both played hard and gave their fans plenty to cheer for.

Thursday night the boys got the bad news that one of their top defence had broken his ankle and wouldn't be able to play the rest of the series.
Game 3
The REBELS came out strong Friday night in Tara and took the lead with Hunter Schultz's goal at 4:05 in the 1st assisted by Calvin Stewart and Jordan Beirnes
Austin McComb scored a powerplay goal on a pass from Hunter at 8:05 in the 2nd, but the IceDogs snuck (a questionable) one in before the buzzer at 0:46 on a powerplay of their own to narrow the lead to 1.
Hunter Schultz added his second of the night at 11:21 in the 3rd, assisted by Cory Rasmussen
Desperate for a goal, the IceDogs pulled their goalie for the man advantage with just over 2 minutes left and got control of the puck and scored.  They pulled him again and unbelievably managed to tie it up with just 51 seconds remaining.  Tension was high and we ended up taking a penalty to have us starting O.T. short handed.
It only took 58 seconds and the IceDogs scored to win the game 4 - 3.

Game 4
In Keady on Saturday afternoon, the REBELS were in control and took the lead again with Mitch Stevens going end to end for a powerplay goal at 6:12 in the 1st.
Arran-Elderslie tied it up at 13:23 in the 2nd, but Josh Currie tipped in Cory's shot from the point less than a minute later.  The REBELS kept the pressure on with shot after shot, but the IceDogs' goalie wasn't letting anything by.
At 6:55 in the 3rd, the IceDogs tied it up ... and after both teams did some penalty killing they were heading to O.T.
The 10 minute overtime period went back and forth with both goalies putting on a show, stopping everything that came at them.
It looked like luck was going our way when Arran-Elderslie took a penalty with 1:33 remaining, but they managed to ice the puck and the race for it did not go our way.  It ended up a breakaway and a goal at 0:29!
IceDogs win the game 3 - 2 and the series 3 - 1.

What a series!!!  The games were exciting and both teams gave it their all.
Robbie Hann was amazing in net for the REBELS, and we need to thank Jack Kivell (Game 3) and Ethan Harrison (Game 4) for stepping in last minute for our injured Jordan Longland.  You both did a wonderful job!

The boys continue on with their WOAA playoff games with Ripley, Goderich and West Grey.
Goderich is coming to Keady this Saturday at 1:30pm, and scheduling with the other two teams will be happening shortly.  Check the website for upcoming games and come out and cheer these hard working boys on.
