ATOM REP ... BACK ON TRACK in their WOAA Playoffs
After 2 weeks without a game, the 'Great Lakes Frame Co.' Atoms came up short in Goderich on Saturday ... but were back on track with a BIG WIN in Southampton tonight.

It was a very even match-up in Goderich, with no score until midway through the 3rd period when the Sailors got on the board first.  Jake Moran tied it up with 6:37 remaining (assisted by Pearce Lacey and William Hoare), but Goderich got the go-ahead-goal with 1:39 left and the Rebels were unable to answer back...losing 2 - 1.

Tonight in Southampton was a different story however!
The Rebels started the scoring early in the 2nd period.  Jack Murray let one fly from the blue line that hit the crossbar and dropped behind the goalie (but apparently not over the line) and Austin King rushed to poke it in and make it official at 8:38.
The REBELS kept the pressure on and Pearce Lacey poked in the 2nd goal at 3:54 (assisted by Jake and Colby McComb).
William found the back of the net at 2:45 (assisted by Dylan Ledingham and Jack Kivell) and Jake picked up a pass from Charlie Scott, came around the net and flipped one in at 2:13 to end the 2nd period with a 4 - 0 lead.
Saugeen Shores came back strong in the 3rd and managed to block all but one of the Rebels attempts on their net.  Jake found the 5-hole with a long shot at 9:45 and it looked like it would be a well-deserved shut-out for Jason Rudolph-MacLeod ... until 1:37 (almost identical timing as Goderich) when we were unable to clear our end and the Storm got in a rebound to make the final score 5 - 1.

Shots on goal were very close:  29 for the Rebels - 24 for the Storm.

The boys have 4 HOME Games coming up in Keady and would love to have a home-town crowd there to cheer them on ... check the playoff link for dates and times.  Hope to see ... and hear you there!!!
