AS GOOD AS A WIN!!!
The REBELS walked out with their heads held high, after their first OMHA Playdown game in Shallow Lake last night!
The Great Lakes Frame Co. Atom Rep boys went well beyond our expectations in the closest match-up (maybe ever) with this dominant Shallow Lake squad.

The REBELS played as a team and kept the usually high-scoring Lakers at bay, not allowing any goals in the 1st period.  Jake Moran got the Rebels on the board with 1 second remaining in the 1st, flying by the Laker defence and burying the puck in their net (assisted by Jack Murray).
The Lakers found the back of our net midway through the 2nd period, scoring 3 quick goals to take a 3 - 1 lead.
Rebels fans were ecstatic as the Lakers remained scoreless in the 3rd period too, and then with 1 second left again ... Jake snuck another one by Cunningham, narrowing the gap to 3 - 2 (assisted by William Hoare and Austin King).  You would have thought we won the game, by the sound of the fans and the excitement of the players.

Jason Rudolph-MacLeod was on his game tonight, facing 36 shots on his net.

Way to go boys, keep working hard!

The Rebels host Shallow Lake for game 2 of the series on Saturday @ 11:30am, in Keady.
