The Horton Concrete Finishing Novice Rep team travelled to
Dundalk to participate in the first annual Showdown in “D” town. The team
worked together to take home the “C” Championship.
The Rebels were quick on their feet to take the lead against the Dundalk Storm in their first game. The Storm fought back and regained the lead in the second period. The Rebels tied it up in the third period forcing the game to continue into double overtime where the Storm were able to win the shoot out ending the game with a 4-3 win.
The Rebels used their “speed” to secure an 11-0 win over Coldwater in their second game and won the Championship game 9-0 against Arthur.
Scoring for the Rebels were: Brayden Gibbons, Nathan Garrett, Hayden Wardell, Wyatt Cayley, Conner Waite and Dakota McComb. Assists by: Layne Edwards, Wyatt Cayley, Nathan Garrett, Josh Johnston, Brayden Gibbons, and Maverick Lacey.
Seth Rosenburg had two shut-outs and played a strong game against Dundalk, limiting the 1st placed team to only 4 goals (he also has good dance moves).
The Rebels are back on home ice November 27 when they take on the Shallow Lake Lakers.
