The end of the regular season came with freezing rain, flu and ... Christmas Parties.
I'm sure you've already heard the story of the big elm tree across the icy road enroute to Tara that rainy Thursday night, but from what I can remember that was the highlight of the evening!
The Homelife Bayside Realty Atom AE Rebels lost 3 - 0 to the Arran Elderslie IceDogs on December 20th. It was an improvement over their first meeting, but the Rebels were unable to put the plays together to get on the board.
Saturday the 23rd had the Rebels hosting the Ripley Wolves in Keady.
It was a very close game with the Rebels coming up short 3 - 2. Chris Hardman had his best game of the year, scoring (unassisted) for the Rebels in the first minute of the game. Ripley replied with 2 quick goals at 4:40 and 4:24 to end the 1st period ahead 2 - 1. Both Jason Rudolph-MacLeod and Ripley's goalie Anna Splettstosser kept their nets clean in the 2nd, but Ripley's Kyle Smeltzer snuck one by and got his 2nd of the game at 10:47 in the 3rd. Not about to give up, the Rebels kept the pressure on and Austin Waite - assisted by Hardman scored the Rebel's final goal at 6:20.

With Christmas holidays, the whole household fighting the flu, and somehow misplacing a game sheet after the Christmas party...what can I say but EXCUSES...EXCUSES...EXCUSES!
