A Weekend of AWAY GAMES!!!
It was a tough weekend for the Homelife Bayside Realty Atom AE Rebels. They took to the road Friday night for a WOAA game in Southampton vs. the Saugeen Shores AE Storm.  Unable to stay out of the penalty box ... the boys played most of the game short-handed and ended up losing 3 - 1Austin Waite scored the Rebels' lone goal, short-handed, and unassisted with 3:03 left in the 3rd.

Saturday, the boys headed to Little Britain (3 hours away) for Game 2 and 3 of their OMHA Quarter-Final series against the Mariposa Lightning.

Game 2 - The Rebels played hard, but were again plagued by penalties.  Chris Hardman opened the scoring for the Rebels - assisted by Carson Torrie and Austin WaiteWaite went end-to-end to score the 2nd goal - assisted by Jakob Moran and Clayton Johnson, but Mariposa managed to sneak one in with just seconds left to end the 1st period 2 - 1.  Mariposa scored twice in the 2nd, but Jakob Moran made an unbelievable shot... from near the goal line to end the period tied at 3 - assisted by Hardman. The 3rd period was scoreless and then came overtime ... we started the O.T. short-handed and with a scramble in front of our net, just a minute in ... Mariposa scored (a questionable goal, off a body part, determined later not to be intentional) and the Rebels lost 4 - 3, to tie the series 1 - 1.

Game 3
- Sunday morning was a bone-chilling -20, and even though the fans were COLD ... the goalies for both teams were HOT! The Rebels had multiple scoring chances, but were unable to get the puck in the net.  Jason Rudolph-MacLeod had one of his best games of the year, but Mariposa did manage to score once in the 1st and once in the 3rd. Jason went to the bench in the last 2 minutes to give the Rebels the man advantage, but after taking another penalty and going back to 5 on 5, Mariposa got a shot through, into the empty net ... and the Rebels lost the game 3 - 0.  The Rebels came home down a game, but are counting on home ice advantage this weekend to prove themselves again.

Come CHEER them on this weekend (we are loud, but can always use the extra support) in ...
Keady this Saturday Feb.23 @ 4:30pm for Game 4 ... AND ... Sunday @ 1:00 for Game 5 (fingers crossed)
