REBELS were SHUT-OUT . . .
There were 2 games on the schedule for the weekend, and both didn't end in our favour.
In the first game on Saturday, the Homelife Bayside Realty Atom AE Rebels hosted the #1 ranked West Grey Wildcats and were defeated 8 - 0.
The second was an exhibition game on Sunday with our closest and favourite rivals, the Saugeen Shores AE Storm.
The Rebels were heading to Southampton down 2 players and ended up playing the 1st period short another.
The only goal of the game was scored midway through the 1st period by the Storm's Skylar Soini, who roofed it over Jason's head to get them on the board. Jarrett Blue recorded the shutout for the Storm, despite the end-to-end action that these 2 teams are famous for. The Rebels pulled their goalie at the end of the 3rd and in a flurry of activity, almost tied up the game on numerous occasions, including a blistering shot from the point by Jordan Beirnes in the final seconds of the game.
It wasn't meant to be for the Rebels and left this season's match-ups with the Storm at 3 TIES and 1 WIN a piece.
Thank you to Cathy Kivell for the highlights of this weekend's games, as I missed them both with Jake home with the flu.
