They W-O-N!!!!!!
After 3 straight ties with Saugeen Shores, the Bayside Homelife Realty Atom AE Rebels pulled off a 4 - 2 W-I-N!!!
In case you missed the excitement...
The Rebels started out slow and were behind 1 - 0 after the 1st and 2 - 0 after the 2nd. We're not sure what Coach Ken said between periods, but the boys came alive and Carson Yost finally found the net during a 4 on 4, at 8:48 in the 3rd, to get the Rebels on the board. But they weren't done yet . . .
Yost added another at 3:42 to tie the game -assisted by Austin Waite and Ethan Harrison.
The Rebels played the last 3 1/2 minutes short handed, but Austin Waite managed to break the tie at 2:24 getting the rebound from Yost.
With the Storm desperate to score again, they pulled their goalie for a 6 on 4. After a struggle around our net, Jakob Moran finally cleared the puck out of Rebels territory, and iced it just missing the net. Austin Waite raced down the ice, got control of the puck and buried another one into the open net to finish it off at 0:16.
The Rebels are travelling to Southampton next Sunday for an (exhibition) rematch with the Storm. The two teams are so evenly matched it could go either way, so may the best team win!
