Your Long Awaited Write-Up ...
Here's a recap of what your 'Town & Country Garden Centre' Midget B Girls have been up to since their season began
The girl’s home opener took place in Chatty on October 15th where they hosted the South Huron Sabres. Although the game sheet recorded a 5 -1 loss, the score doesn’t do justice to the great game the girls played. Remaining scoreless until ½ way through the second the girls replied with their lone goal with just under 2 minutes of play in the second, scored by Kylie Maue assisted by Joren Wilcox & Brontae Frook.
Next the girls traveled to participate in the Mitchell Meteors tournament Oct 20-23 where they reigned as the tournament Champions!! Game #1 saw them defeat the host team 2-1, first goal scored by McKenzie Davis on a pass from Emily Moore. Then Kylie Maue took a turn – assisted by Brontae Frook. Game #2 saw them come up scoreless vs the Mount Forest Rams. Placing second in their pool forced them into the semi-final game against Mitchell where Emily Roney recorded her first season shut-out. The girls found the back of the net twice, first goal by Kylie Maue – assisted by Teena Ritchie-Weiss & second goal by Emily Moore-unassisted. The girls met up with the Mount Forest Rams in the Championship game which resulted in a reversal of their first game vs Mount Forest & Emily Roney recorded her second shut-out of the season. Rebels goals scored by Hunter Moffat & Mckenzie Davis – assists by Davis & Maue.
Last weekend the girls hosted the Mitchell Meteors where they came out with a 4-1 win. Scorers were: Kenna McKee, Emily Moore (2), McKenzie Davis – Brontae Frook assisted on the first goal by Moore.
Sunday they traveled to Monkton to meet up with the Meteors once again where they ended the game in a 1-1 tie. Lone Rebels goal scored by Emily Moore – assisted by Hunter Moffat & Kylie Maue.
This week the girls traveled to Kincardine on Tuesday to face off against the Kinucks. Suffering a 4-1 loss the girls worked hard but just couldn’t easily work that puck to the back of the Kinucks net. Lone goal was scored by Brontae Frook – assisted by Emily Moore & Peyton McCauley.
The girls will be on the road this weekend where they’ll meet up in Clinton on Saturday vs Huron Heat & Sunday the Stratford Aces.
Keep up the great work girls!
