Time to take charge
Residents in the heart of timber country in northern BC have
a saying to describe their weather: they get ten months of spectacular skiing and
snowmobiling, and two months of so-so skiing and snowmobiling (as in, it snows
there pretty much year-round). If we
were to describe the two back-to-back games that the Moggie Valley Timber
Midget LL Rebels played in Kincardine this weekend, they could be summed up
best as: three periods of spectacular hockey and three periods of so-so hockey.
Unfortunately, those three periods spanned two games – a phenomenal third period in game #1 against Kincardine’s #1 team where the Rebels commanded a 3-2 lead, and two stellar first periods in game #2 against Kincardine’s #2 team that resulted in a scoreless tie going into the flood. Noah McNab netted two in the first game, both assisted by captain, Matt Woodroffe, with assists also going to assistant captain, Brodey Barwick, and Theodore Stockwell. Matt also scored an unassisted goal, and Mason Hanna rounded out the scoring in the first game with a shot that found home, set up by Brodey and Matt. In the second game, a goal was called in and then waved off, and in the end, the Rebels could not get on the scoreboard.
The scores sadly don’t tell the whole story as the Rebels lost both games, 9-4 and 6-0 respectively. We have seen what you can do, Rebels. Time to take charge!
