Oops, they did it again
After a brief taste of victory, the ongoing battle
with the dreaded secondperiod-itis plague resumed last Tuesday night as the
Moggie Valley Timber Midget LL Rebels fell to the Bruce Peninsula Northstars at
home.
Breaking it down by period…
First period: 2-1 for the Predators. Jake Hartman put home a beauty from Jay Rourke and Connor Woodroffe, and the play was close. The first ten minutes were scoreless, with all three goals coming under the 5-minute mark, proving that the Rebels are worthy adversaries when they keep their heads in the game and play as a team.
Third period: A repeat of the first with 2 for the Predators and 1 for the home team, as the Northstars managed to maintain only a slim 1-goal margin in goals scored against the determined Rebels in the third. Captain Matt Woodroffe netted the Rebels’ goal, assisted by Jake Hartman. The team had kept their cool in the first period, staying out of the box and focusing on neutralizing their opponents with strategic play. However, penalties dogged the team for most of the third at the cost of their offensive opportunities, and their goal total for the game was capped at 2.
What about the second period, you ask? Not gonna talk about it. Final score: 8-2.
