Silver Stick Saturday
The Rebels traveled to Blythe this Saturday. Fans were eager to see what they would bring after their first defeat. First game v.s Shelborne
A completely different Rebel team stepped on the ice. Passing, shooting, backing eachother up and supported their goaltender, Javier koesleg when needed. Because of great teamwork the Rebels took a well deserved 2 points from their opponent with a 10-3 victory.
Game 2: 1pm against Ripley
A need to win to stay alive game for both teams. By far the best game played this season by the Rebels with 3 complete periods. Improvements in all areas of the game proved to be the key as the Rebels found the back of the net 6 times and Javier Koesleg earned his first shutout of the season. This win clenched first in their pool as 3 teams were 2-1 and rebels had the best plus/minus. When they reached the dressing room they were informed that they had to come back bright and early again Sunday for the semi-finals against the wildcard team. Smiles entered the hallway after a great day of hockey. Everyone deserved the hockey cards today:)
Next game 9:00 am tomorrow in Wingham semi-final
Championship Game to follow. Early to bed boys, long day ahead:)
League game in Chesley 6pm.
