Town and Country Garden Centre Midget 'C' girls earn first regular season win!!
The Midget girls earned a commanding 5-1 win over West Grey on Sunday January 12th on home ice.
With no score after the first period, Amanda Cook gave TCDMHA the lead in the second, goal assisted by Morgan Williamson.
Kaitlyn Brancati scored with .01 seconds remaining in the second (unassisted) to send the girls into the third with a 2-0 advantage.
West Grey replied first in the third, goal scored by Kayla Kempers.
Our girls didn't let up. Morgan Williamson scored just 12 seconds later (assisted by Brancati & Amanda Zettle), and Cook and Williamson each scored their second (unassisted) goals.
This was the first game all 16 players have been out at the same time, and parents & coaching staff are certainly hoping to see the team continue the calibre of play they are capable of, which was evident throughout this entire game.
The girls (and coaching staff) have had a physically and emotionally challenging season so far with various injuries and automobile accidents to overcome. It is great to see everyone healthy...and the girls hunger to win has paid off! (Just in time for Silver Stick Feb 7th to 9th...)
