What a weekend for the TCDMHA
“Gaviller & Company” Bantam C Girls.
Three games in three days and these young ladies played some of their
best played hockey of the season!
Friday night the girls hosted Georgian Shores in their first of five Provincial Play-down games. The girls were a little slow in the first period but came on strong in the following two. The Rebels found the back of the net nine times and were able to keep their own clean until the final buzzer. Kassey Mustard led the scoring with four goals, followed by single markers for Skylar Golem, Emily Moore, Grace Kuhl, Carlie Cook and Jessica Moran. Assists on the night were awarded to Jessica Moran (4), Emily Moore (3), Kassey Mustard (2), Valerie Gibbons (2), Madison Doig & Grace Kuhl. Hannah Mustard recorded the shut-out in the 9:0 win.
Saturday afternoon the ladies hosted West Grey for their last regular season match-up. Carlie Cook got the Rebels on the board first scoring unassisted early in the first period. Kassey Mustard added goal number two mid way through the 2nd to pull us ahead once again (goal assisted by Jessica Moran). Emily Roney made some fantastic stops between the posts for the Rebels but after some questionable calls by the officials & a Rebel goal called back – West Grey went on to win the game 3:2. It was certainly a game to remember for these 11 feisty females & their fans with the penalty box housing more of our players than the bench!!
Sunday the Rebels travelled to the Mildmay arena to play game number two in their Provincial Play-down series. Facing the South Bruce Monarchs for the first time this season the ladies started out strong and kept up the pace through-out the game. The lady Rebels won the game 4:0 with some awesome defensive play by Shannon Stryker, Madison Doig & Skylar Golem. Scoring for the Rebels were Valerie Gibbons with two & Emily Moore & Jessica Moran each scoring singles. Assists were awarded to Shannon Stryker, Kassey Mustard, Grace Kuhl, Emily Moore & Carlie Cook. Hannah Mustard records the shut-out.
