2 SHUT-OUTS FOR GILL SENDS REBELS TO ROUND 2
The TCDMHA Country Charm Mennonite Furniture Midget C Rebel Girls opened round one of their provincial playdowns Feb.6th with a tough 2-1 loss to Grey Highlands.

Kristen Sweiger scored the only goal for the Rebels, while Courtney Garbutt and Rebecca Carefoot scored for Grey Highlands.

The Rebels bounced back last weekend with 1-1 tie Saturday night in Durham and 3-0 victory on home ice over West Grey.  Jessica Bryans opened the scoring for the Rebels on Saturday.  Lindsay Nellson answered back in the second period to tie the game.  It was a fierce battle, but the 1-1 tie would remain.  Kristen Sweiger, Danielle McNabb and Torie Lisk popped in the 3 goals for the win last Sunday.

The Rebels hosted Grey Highlands in the final game of round one Friday night.  Rebels net minder Amandah Gill stood her ground to lead her team to a 2-0 victory.  Maddy Moore and Danielle McNabb scored the Rebels' goals.

This final win has the Rebels leading their pool with 5 points, which is enough to send them to round 2 in their bid for a spot at the 2013 provincial championships in Ottawa.  Best of luck girls!
