A very
exciting weekend for the young lady rebels..
The girls
first game on Friday, January 11th saw the young rebels take the ice
with their newly fashioned pink socks in support of the
tourney!!
The girls came out strong with much action in both ends..Mt. Brydges scored the first goal in the 1st period but the Rebel girls did not give up..
Scoring in the 2nd period was Tristin Brown…(unassisted). 3rd period had no goals and the game ended in a 1 : 1 tie.. TEAM MVP – TRISTIN BROWN
The girls had a bit of a break and took the ice for their 2nd game at 4:40pm in the afternoon against a very strong Lucan team…
The Rebel girls scored the first 2 goals in the first period..scoring for the Rebels was Morgan Moran with her 1st goal assisted by Kloey Jex and the 2nd goal by Tristin Brown..
The Rebel girls had to keep up the fight as Lucan put the grind to our AMAZING goalie Grace Vokes….unfortunately Lucan got one past in the 3rd period but that was all..
The Rebel girls won the game 2 : 1…TEAM MVP – GRACE VOKES
Saturday morning came and the Rebels faced off against Petrolia. The girls knew they had to win in order to go to the championships and that is exactly what they did..
With no scoring until the 3rd period kept the fans on the edge of their seat but Abby Vokes (unassisted) skated her heart out and notched one past the goalie..This gave the girls the go ahead to the
Championship game…TEAM MVP – ABBY VOKES
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME…had the girls on the ice bright and early and unfortunately the Parkhill team outskated our girls..Parkhill scored all their goals in the 2nd period and the Rebel girls finally got one past with 9 seconds left..Scoring the lonely goal for the Rebel was Abby Vokes…The girls take 2nd place and come home with medals and a banner!!
THE TCDMHA ATOM ‘C’ Girls (Tristin Brown, Abby Vokes, Lindsay Elliot, Morgan Moran, Jade Gilchrist, Janna Wardell, Brooklyn Mole, Grace Vokes, Jamie Gilchrist, Kloey Jex, Grace Scott, Natalie Mole, Summer Roney and Brooke Farrow) had an exciting weekend of hockey and should be SO PROUD of their accomplishment!!
The team would also like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the TCDMHA Pee Wee ‘C’ girls and their parents for coming to most of their games to show their support!! IT IS TRULY APPRECIATED and so wonderful to have had you there..
Also a big thank you to the Atom ‘C’ coaches and parents for your support of the girls and for allowing this weekend to be such a success for the girls!!
A weekend full of memories that will not be forgotten!!
