TCDMHA Town & Country Midget B Rebels had an amazing weekend at the Sarnia Silverstick.

First game match saw them play North Halton Twisters.  With Karlee Sweiger opening the scoring for TCD with a sweet pass from Lexy Horton and just 13 seconds later, Bailey Longland dumped one in with the help of Courtney Torrie.  This was all they needed as Michelle McNabb recorded the shutout for TCD and they won 2-0.

Second game of round robin play saw them up against West Seneca Wings from the States.  With both teams holding their own in the first, West Seneca scored 3 times in the 2nd period with goals from Erin Gehen, Brianna Mathias and Molly Sikorski.  TCD, not wanting to be outdone, would come alive in the 3rd with Karlee Sweiger taking a pass from Sidney Vaivods and popping one in past the West Seneca netminder.  Just over a minute later, Morgan Potter would add her own unassisted, shorthanded goal but TCD would run out of time and lose this game 3-2.

Third game of the tournament and final game of the round robin would see them play Lambton Shores Predators.   TCDMHA was quick to get on the board in the first period with Taylor Vokes passing to Alexa Moore who passed to Morgan Potter who tipped it in for the first goal.  Still in the first,  Taylor Vokes took a pass from Alexa Moore and fired from the point to put one in.  In the second period, Vokes would get her second of the game with the help of Torrie and Cala Bryans.  The third period saw a goal from Potter who was assisted by Moore for her second of the game.  Lambton Shores would get on the scoreboard just seconds later with a squeaker slipping past McNabb.  Rebels would get one more on the board with Moore popping one in with the help of Torrie to end the game 5-1.

TCDMHA would end the round robin play 2-1 and finish 2nd behind West Seneca.

Quarter final action saw them play the 1st place winners from another pool which happened to be the Walkerton Capitals.  In this do or die game, TCD was first on the board with Potter popping one in on Madison Elliott unassisted.  Still in the first, Sidney Vaivods hammered in her first goal of the tournament.  Walkerton's Shaelyn Busby would put them on the board in the second period to put it within one goal.  With just a little over 2 minutes left in the 3rd period, Walkerton would tie it up with a goal from Marielle Adams.  With the pressure on for both teams because one of them was going home, Courtney Torrie would put her first of the tournament in with the help of Kaitlyn Patchell with just a little over a minute left.  Lots of scrambling going on but with 13 seconds left in the game, Sweiger would put the final goal of the game in and TCDMHA would win 4-2.

In the semi final, early morning game,  TCD met up with Mt Brydges Cougars.  In a very intense game that was back and forth for the first period and most of the second, Mt Brydges was first on the board with a goal from Taylor McTaggart.  The Rebels with lots of scoring chances finally got on the board in the third with Lexy Horton taking a pass from Sweiger and somehow getting it past their netminder to tie the game one a piece.  Less than 2 minutes later, Torrie would take a pass from an injured Nicole Ballagh-Evans to put the Rebels ahead by one.  Nearing the end of the game, Patchell would put the 3rd goal for TCD on the board when she netted her own unassisted goal.  Not to be outdone, Mt Brydges responded with the final goal of the game from Amberley Holman but it wasn't enough for them and the Rebels would win the semi final game 3-2.

Championship game of the 14th Annual Sarnia Girls Silverstick saw the Rebels come up against the Petrolia Oilers who had not lost a game yet and only allowed 2 goals in all tournament play.  In less than 2 minutes, the Oilers were on the board with a goal from Kimberly Poole.  TCD's Emily Vincent and Abby Doig would battle hard to hold the line but the Oilers were a fast team!  The Rebels battled hard and had opportunities to score but just couldn't seem to get the puck between the Oilers pipes.  In the second period, Kaitlyn Sinclair would score the final goal of the game to put the Petrolia Oilers up 2-0 and give them the Championship win.  Accepting the Finalist Banner was Michelle McNabb.  MVP for the tournament for TCDMHA Rebels was Morgan Potter!  Congratulations Ladies on a job well done!
