Double overtime for Country Charm WOAA Consolation WIN!!!
It took till double Overtime before the TCDMHA Country Charm Mennonite Furniture Bantam B Girls Downed The Saugeen Shores Storm 2-1 to take the WOAA Maroon Consolation Final!!
The Bantam Girls headed to Wiarton over the weekend for their Year end Tournament.. Friday night the Girls faced off against a Strong Bruce Penninsula Team, Bruce Penn scored Early in the First Period then added yet another in the Second to take a 2 goal lead, but the Rebels battled back and with the Help of Miranda Bruce and Katie Brancati, Morgan Williamson netted the Rebels lone goal. It was a tough loss as the Girls worked extremely hard.. Game 2 was Set for Saturday as the Rebels were supposed to Play Georgian Shores, But because of bad weather, Georgian Shores couldn't make it and the Rebels advanced to the Consolation Final.. Sunday The Rebels squared off against a small but strong Saugeen Shores squad. In the First Period, Saugeen put one past the Rebels netminder Jess McGregor, Undaunted the Rebels worked hard forcing the Play in the Storms end for most of the second and third period.. It was getting to crunch time as the Storms goalie, Heather Kozac stopped shot after shot from the Rebels.. Nothing would get past her!!!!
As time was ticking away, The Rebels Danielle McNabb Had a sweet tape to tape pass to Morgan Williamson and with :32 seconds left in the 3rd the Rebels tied the game!!!!!
The Rebels went into the first overtime, and although we dominated in the storm's end there was no scoring.. into double Overtime we went, and it was looking like a third overtime was going to be necessary...but just then, the Rebels Callan Yost finally ended the game!!!! It was an exciting game to watch and the girls played their hearts out!!! Just a note the Rebels fired no less than 53 shots at the Storm's goalie!!!
