The Barry`s Construction Atom LL team got
off to a slow start in their December 7th game in Chesley versus
Arran-Elderslie#2.
The opposition attacked early getting 4 goals by Austin McKinnon, 3 by Jordan Osborne and singles by Conlan Krisza, Conor MacLeod and Chayse Houston. The Rebel`s fought back with goals by Lorenzo Pedro, assisted by Clayton Krueger and Jack Scott and a goal by Carson Torrie assisted by Clayton Johnson. Final score Arran-Elderslie 10, Rebel`s 2.
The Atom LL Rebel`s came out with a much better effort on December 18th with a close game against Saugeen Shores#1, but lost 5-3. Rebel`s Jake Hartman scored the first goal of the game unassisted in the first period. Saugeen Shores quickly tied it up and added 2 more goals in the second period, and 2 in the third. The Rebel`s rallied with Hartman`s second marker of the game, as his clearing attempt, caught the oppositions goalie by surprise and found the net. Darren Graham tallied late in the third, assisted by Grant Stephens and Dalan Frook. With the Rebel`s missing 4 of their 11 players, AP`s Frook, Wesley Houston and Adam Gorman suited up and played a strong game against the much larger opposition.
The Barry`s Construction Atom LL squad got a Christmas win Wednesday night, December 21, in Desboro, as they defeated Arran-Elderslie #1 4-2. Arran-Elderslie got on the scoreboard first with a goal by Todd Johnson. The Rebel`s Carson Torrie tied it up in the second, assisted by Clayton Johnson. Arran-Elderslie pulled ahead in the second off a face-off shot by Johnson (we`re giving the assist to the referee, as the Rebel`s were all watching their team-mate getting out of the penalty box as the puck dropped!) The third period belonged to the Rebel`s with goals by Jake Hartman, assisted by Lorenzo Pedro, Johnson added the Rebel`s third goal, assists going to Torrie and Jack Scott, and the fourth goal was an unassisted effort by Pedro.
The Barry Construction Atom LL will be back in action when they are home to the Shallow Lake Lakers#2 on January 7th 11:00am for the 1st game of 2012 in Desboro.
