TCDMHA TIE MILDMAY IN GAME 1
The Great Lakes Frame Company Atom Rep Rebels skated to a 7-7 tie in OMHA
quarter final action.
The Rebels came out skating hard and potted 3 quick goals by Ty Mountain (2) and Mitchell McComb before Mildmay could get their skates under them.
The second period is when Mildmay found their footing and they rallied back with 2 unanswered goals before Mason Hanna scored a beauty. In the last three and a half minutes of the second frame Mildmay scored twice and the Rebels' McComb counted his second of the game.
The third period started with another goal by Mildmay to which Owen Torrie replied for the Rebels and Ty Mountain potted his third of the game for the hat trick and what looked like the game winner. Mildmay did not give up though and rallied back with 2.5 minutes to play. They clinched the tie when they pulled the goalie and it was a 6 on 4 as the Rebels were serving a late 3rd period penalty. It looked like the Rebels were going to be victorious but with only 5 seconds remaining Mildmay was able to slip one more in the net and the game was tied.
The ten minute overtime was exciting and quite a nail biter, but neither team was able to get one passed the goaltenders. The game ended tied at 7-7. What a game!
Next action for these two teams is on Thursday night in Mildmay, it's gonna be a good one!!
