With
the legalization of cannabis coming into effect on Wednesday October 17th
for
those 19 years of age and older,
all players and members are reminded that as with tobacco,
vaping products,
alcohol and illegal drugs, using or being under the influence of cannabis
in any form is strictly prohibited at any game, practice, team and/or league
function and/or within any arenas in the Province of Ontario as prohibited by
law, and may lead to disciplinary actions which may include suspensions.
Athletes subject to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) must be aware that this does not affect the status of cannabis in sport. Cannabis continues to be a prohibited substance and a positive test can still result in a sanction. Cannabis will continue to be listed as Prohibited In Competition on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)’s Prohibited List
