REBELS are the 2016-17 WOAA CHAMPIONS
It took 4 games for the 'Air-Tech Mechanical' BANTAM REP REBELS to defeat the tough West Grey Warriors and clinch the title of WOAA LOCKRIDGE DIVISION CHAMPS ... but we're all convinced the boys just held on to get the final win at home!

To recap this very close series: Game 1 was a 6-5 win at home, Game 2 was a 3-1 win away, and Game 3 which could have ended it all ... ended in a 3-3 O.T. tie in Ayton, to force Game 4 back in Chatty.

The fans answered our call and came out one last time to support the boys, and they didn't leave disappointed.  In a game that could have gone either way, it was 40 minutes of exciting hockey right to the final buzzer.
The REBELS started off the scoring just 24 seconds into the game.  Wyatt Golem won the battle in the corner and got the puck out to Austin McComb at the top of the circle, for a one-timer that the Warriors' goalie didn't even have time to react to.  The remainder of the period went by scoreless at both ends, and it was West Grey who struck next with the tying goal on a power-play at 9:34 in the 2nd.
That didn't go unanswered.  Austin King put a pass out to Mitch Faust, who carried the puck into the zone and took a shot on net.  The rebound came out and Golem sent it right back into the net at 6:33.
Just over a minute later, Faust fought their defenders out from the corner and shot top corner at 5:06.  Assists went to Hunter Schultz and Calvin Stewart.  The boys headed into the room with a 3 - 1 lead, which we had also seen in game 3, so nobody was celebrating yet!

As predicted, the Warriors narrowed the gap with a goal at 5:23, but thankfully that would be the only luck they'd have.  Lawson Cumming shut the Warriors down and our whole team went into defensive mode.  They protected their 1 goal lead, and the crowd went wild for the full final minute of the game.
Final Score: REBELS 3 - WARRIORS 2

Township of Chatsworth
Essentially a rural community, the Township of Chatsworth takes its flavour from the farmlands and forests surrounding it. We welcome visitors to stop and visit as you drive through central Grey County. Amalgamated January 1, 2000, the Township of Chatsworth is made up of the former Townships of Holland and Sullivan and the Village of Chatsworth. The Township population is approximately 8,000 in an area of 260 square miles. Agriculture is the most predominant industry in the Township. There are also a significant number of sawmills in the township, many operated by the Amish community. Tourism and recreation are a growing industry. The Niagara Escarpment, 6 county forests, numerous conservation areas, inland lakes and major rivers provide plenty of year round activities including hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing.
Township of Georgian Bluffs
Just a few hours from major Ontario cities, Georgian Bluffs is a collection of communities stretching north from Chatsworth to just south of Wiarton. Copper Kettle, Cobble Beach, Slough of Despond, Big Bay, Oxenden, Balmy Beach… these are just some of the names that paint a picture of the Georgian Bluffs canvas along the Georgian Bay Coastal Route. We have the natural beauty of waterfalls, the Niagara Escarpment and the blue waters of Georgian Bay just to mention a few of our natural amenities. We are a township for all seasons!
