Jack Diaz Gets an Assist and a Goal!!
The Township of Chatsworth "Howell Transport" Bantam Local League Team played The Bruce Peninsula Northstars on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at the Tara Arena. This was the third meeting for these two teams in a span of two weeks.
The first four minutes of play had both teams battling for the upper hand. Rebel's goalie DJ Gamble got tested early but he was ready. At the other end of the ice, William Hoare used some Physics to score on a shot from a very difficult angle at 5:17. Jack Diaz assisted this goal. Bruce Peninsula evened things up with just 1.7 seconds on the clock. All tied up at the end of period one.
Bruce Peninsula scored at 13:22 in period two to take the lead. Jack Diaz tied things up with a great short-handed effort and a successful snipe to the back of the net. Makaleyn Moore assisted this goal with confidence. Things remained tied for the remainder of period two.
Period Three started out very well. There were defensive rushes by Makaleyn Moore and Maverick Lacey that came close to putting the Rebels ahead. Strong back checking by Adam Gorman really helped the cause. In the end, Bruce Peninsula managed two goals in the final minutes of the game to win this match.
