Jackson Greig and Trevor McCarthy Bring the Crowd to Their Feet!!
The Township of Chatsworth "Barry's Construction" Pewee Boys LL played their sixth playoff game on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. This game was against the Bruce Peninsula Predators and was played at the Keady Arena.The Rebels were keen to put forth a good effort. Robert LaFond was the goaltender for this event and he did very well once again. Aiden Callahan-Cummins started the scoring at 7:08 in period one, assisted by Ivan Romanowich. This was the only goal in period one.
The Rebels were caught off guard early in the second period when the Predators scored a quick breakaway goal. The Predators had two more successful breakaways before the end of this period. 3 - 1 at the end of the second period.
The Rebels came out strong in period three and were determined to get back in the game. Robert LaFond and his defensive squad did not allow another breakaway goal. At 8:18 Ethen Blakey found the back of the net, assisted by Maverick Lacey. At 3:02 Xander Kirk tied the game with a strategic shot that was deflected into the net. The Rebels held strong for the final three minutes of the game and forced the game into Over-time.
With 5:22 left on the clock in the Over-time period, Jackson Greig buried the puck in the Predator's net, on a beautiful set-up by Trevor McCarthy.
