Season Opener Rocked the Barn!
Great Lakes Framing Co. Atom Rebels opened their season with a 7-4 win over the Bruce Peninsula North Stars.
North Stars struck first two minutes into the game.
Nathaniel Gibbons scored his first of the season glove side on the stars netminder unassisted. First period ended 1-1
A few penalties on both sides in the second seemed to open up the scoring. The puck Fed up by Aiden Cummings Callahan to Nathan Garret and he skated the puck into the defenders end scoring a shorty on a sweet deak to the backhand. Just after a power play expired Garret found the pathway to net and touched mesh top glove side for his second of the game. Less then 1 minute later Garret buried his first true hatty of the season. The North stars answered back with one after a little confusion on the ice, leaving the score at the end of the 2nd 4-2 rebels.
Bruce Peninsula battled and answered with a couple of goals but the Rebels were too much to handle burying 3 more goals by Aiden Fluney, Nathaniel Gibbons and Austin Cook assists went out to Garret, Cook and Gibbons as well.
Javier Koesiag stood tall for the Rebels and collected the win.
A salute goes out to Garret a 5 point game, Not too shabby:)
