Cook Nets a Pair in both of the Home and Home Games
Horton's Concrete Novice LL#2 rang in the New Year with the Saugeen Shores Storm 2 Jan 2nd and Jan 10th.
Dylan Harris took the challenge in net and earned himself the hardest worker. His teammates weathered the storm by good defense and striking first. Rebels Cody Cook pushed the puck ahead getting by the D and skating it out. Cook lifted the disc past the goalie.
Storm tied it up at the mid-point of the 2nd. Rebels had so many chances, no bounces!! Entering the third rebels outplayed the opponents but gave up a goal with 5min left in the period. The boys didn't give up and with a nifty little feed from Sasha McMurray(recording his first point) to Cook where the puck found the back of the net. This one ended as a 2-2 tie.
Next Saturday these two teams squared off again. The difference in this one was bounces and the lack there of. Rebels controlled the play most of the game, missing the net on many opportunities in the beginning and catching everything but net during the rest!!( posts, skates, sticks) Storm was up a goal going into the 2nd and another at 7:40. Finally at 6:40 Cole Hall shot the puck from the point and rang it off the post, fortunately Cook went to the net and buried the rebound. Not long after that celebration the storm answered back with another. Down 3-1 Rebels took over and created a flurry. 3min left in the game Hall shot the puck in and guess who, Cook shovelled in the..... !!! think he's used to doing chores in the barn! lol 3-2, three minutes left, shot after shot by the Rebels but the storm managed to come out with the win. Way to keep the fans in it kids!
Although not on the score sheet, Dylan Harris earns back to back hardest worker for his defensive efforts and smart decision making. Way to go Dylan offense comes from good defense.
