Leask gets a Shut Out Against the South Bruce Blades.
The ScotiaBank Bantam HL Girls where bound and determined this game and their persistence and constant skating drills that their coaches have put them through have paid off!

The girls hit the ice and they where on their game. No goals scored by either team in the first period, Jadzia Leask was awesome between the pipes, and she continued to stop every puck through-out the whole game.  It was in the second period that the Rebels showed what they are made of, with Kyla Thalen sending the puck directly to Aly Airdrie and Aly shooting the puck right through the five hole of the South Bruce's goalie.  The second goal was also made in the second period, and that's when the Thalen sister power came to light.  Jayden Thalen sent the puck right to the net and the goal was saved, but Kyla Thalen was right there for the rebound and just gave the puck a tap and snuck it in the bottom right corner.  Making the score 2-0 for the Rebels.  And that where the score stayed despite both teams efforts during the third period.  This was the teams first league win this season, there was some pretty excited Girls, Coaches and Parents in the Chatty Barn!

The ScotiaBank HL Bantam's are back at Chatsworth Arena on Saturday February 06 to play the Walkerton Capitals, and on Sunday February 06 they are in Tiverton to battle with the Kincardine Kinucks.  Another busy hockey weekend!!

The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
