An Excellent weekend of hockey for the ScotiaBank Bantam HL Girls!
The girls hosted the Kincardine Kinucks on Saturday at the Chatsworth Arena and an exciting game it was!

The first period was a lot of back and forth for both teams and at the end of the first period we still had a scoreless game.  In the second period Brooklyn Mole was the first to find the back of the net assisted by Alicia Beauchamp and Jolina McLean.  The Kinucks tried their hardest but nothing was getting past Jadzia Leask this period.  In the third period Kincardine made their first goal now making this a tie game, and with only 1:53 left in game they scored again making it a 2-1 game for the Kinucks.

On Sunday our girls travelled to Mount Forest to battle with the Rams.  The Rebels where on their game and by the end of the first period the ScotiaBank Girls where on the board and leading the game 2-0.  The first goal was made by Kyla Thalen assisted by Sara Boulter.  And with only 37 seconds left in the period Aly Airdrie deposited the puck in the net with the assistance of Kyla Thalen and Sara Boulter.  Despite the Rebels passing the puck and some great team work, they could not get that bounce that would give them another goal but Mount Forest did and scored twice in the second period tying the game up at 2-2.  In the third period Mount Forest would score one more time getting the puck past goalie Jadzia Leask despite her best effort, making the final score 3-2 for the Rams.

Our ScotiaBank Rebels are back in Chatsworth Saturday January 30 against the South Bruce Blades, come and sneak a peek at this awesome bunch of girls!

The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
