LACEY lead the REBELS ...
In their 1st WOAA League Playoff game, the 'Harold Sutherland Construction' PEEWEE Rep REBELS managed to edge the Bruce Peninsula Predators in a tight matchup in Keady on Wednesday night.
The Predators got on the board with a quick goal less than a minute after the puck dropped. However,
the Rebels wasted no time answering back. Austin King moved the puck in and made a sharp angled shot on the net that found it's way behind the goalie at 7:21, assisted by Jake Moran.
Both Jason Rudolph-MacLeod and Jimmy St. Marie (Predators) made some amazing saves and kept the score tied at 1 after the 1st, and for over 12 minutes of the 2nd ... until Calvin Stewart carried the puck over the blue line and with a man on him, spun around and sent the pass to Pearce Lacey who was ready with a one-timer at the net. The shot was blocked, but Pearce rushed in and buried his own rebound to give the REBELS the lead at 2:50.
The Predators managed to tie it up midway through the 3rd, but Pearce took the lead again with a shot 5-hole on another pass from Calvin at 2:46.
Jason closed the door on the Predators and the Rebels recorded the 3 - 2 WIN.

The next playoff game is at home in Keady, against the Mount Forest Rams on Saturday Feb. 20 @ 11:00am.
