The Xtreme Heating TCDMHA Peewee LL#1 Rebels hosted their hometown rivals, Peewee LL#2, in league action on Sunday. The home team gave LL#2 a run for their money, but fell just short, losing 3-1. Here is how the game played out:
The first period saw end-to-end action, with LL#2 finally opening the scoring with 15 seconds remaining in the frame on a goal from Carson Torrie, assists to Chris Hardman and Dalan Frook.
LL#1 would tie the game up in the second when Wesley Houston slid a shot along the ice, beating goalie Devin Early five-hole, (assist to Clay Kreuger). Unfortunately for LL#1, that was the only goal Early would allow. Both he and LL#1 net-minder, Jason Rudolph-MacLeod, were outstanding between the pipes, stopping numerous shots from their respective opposing teams. Jack Murray would score the winning goal for LL#2 with 2:18 remaining in the second, assisted by Ethan Harrison.
LL#2 would add another in the third as Pearce Lacey took a pass from Jack Murray and after some fancy dekes, dumped the puck in the back of the net.
The boys had a combined Christmas get-together following the game, enjoying some good food and some great camaraderie. Seeing the boys sitting and laughing together after the game was a great reminder of what sport is all about!
Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your time with your families!
