The Rebels travelled to Ayton EARLY Sunday morning (THANK YOU parents!) for a 7:00 AM game against the host team, the West Grey Huskies.
An early start seemed to have no impact on our team as they dominated the game with a 6-1 victory.
Curtis Wade had 3 goals in the game, and traded assists with Dalan Frook who got 2 markers for the Rebels.
Dillon Fry had a single, assisted by Adam Gorman and Landon Heathers.
Game 2 at noon had the Rebels face the Hanover Falcons who are evenly matched to our team.
It was a goalie battle this game, with each tender making what seemed to be impossible saves to keep their team alive.
The duo of Curtis Wade and Dalan Frook scored and gave us the lead late in the 1st period.
Hanover answered in the 2nd to tie the game, and the 3rd was scoreless.
OT was more of the same, and Hanover managed to capitalize on a rebound to take the win.
With 3 points and a +4 in the tourney the Rebels had to wait to see the results of the Bruce Peninsula Predators game at 5 o’clock…with their victory it ended our day in Ayton.
Well done Rebels. We have shown the Southern loop we are a force to be reckoned with.
