MORAN NETS A HAT-TRICK as the ATOM REP START THEIR WOAA PLAYOFF WITH A W-I-N
Yes, you read it right ... a W-I-N!!!
With only 9 skaters, and questionable weather 'The Great Lakes Frame Co.' Atom Rep REBELS made the drive to Ayton to face the West Grey AE ... and came home with a 4 - 1 victory.
Jake Moran started the scoring tonight on a breakaway early in the 1st (unassisted) and did it again a few minutes later, receiving a beauty pass from Austin King.
Jake got another solid pass from Jack Kivell with a minute left in the 2nd to complete his hat-trick.
The REBELS headed into the 3rd up 3 - 0, thanks to the cat-like-reflexes of goalie Jason Rudolph-MacLeod and his 3 hard working "D".
Jack Murray was in the perfect position in front of the net to score the Rebels final goal of the night, receiving a pass from Jake midway through the 3rd.
West Grey did score on a power-play with 3:07 remaining in the game, but that was the end of that.
REBELS take the game 4 - 1. (I may have already mentioned that!)
In a very evenly matched game, the shots were: REBELS 19 - WEST GREY 18
The boys are heading to Goderich for Game 2 of the WOAA Round Robin Playoffs on Feb. 8th.
WAY TO GO BOYS and GOOD LUCK in GODERICH.
