ANOTHER "W" for the REBELS IN WOAA LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
After what seems like half a hockey season crammed into two weeks the Rebels ended their 7 straight games against the Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs Monday night in Paisley.  The Alphabet Soup team (as so affectionately referred to by our opponents) found the "W" once again in the soup tonight.  The Rebels defeated the Ice Dogs 4 to 3 to win their second game of the WOAA round robin league playoffs.

Austin McComb opened up the scoring for the Rebels with 6:44 remaining in the first period on an assist from Jordan Longland.  Nick Garrett scored the second goal of the game with 3:48 left in the first to let the Rebels take a 2 to 0 lead.

The Rebels took two penalties in the second period 4 seconds apart defending their goalie each time.  There was no need to go to the televised replay on this one as the home team cameras were in full force at the rink tonight.  The Rebels were successful in killing off the first penalty.  Despite an outstanding effort to continue their success the Ice Dogs were able to capitalize on the more costly four minute penalty and scored their first goal of the game.

Wyatt Golem came back in the second period with 3:48 remaining (what a great time for the Rebels tonight) to pot the Rebels third goal.

The Ice Dogs still kept battling hard as we knew they would and came back with two goals in the third period to tie the game.  The last goal was scored with 2:22 remaining in the third.

With 1:18 left in the third period Cory Rasmussen scores the game winner from the point on an assist from Austin McComb.

The Ice Dogs continued to play hard to the end.  The Ice Dogs made one last drive to the net without the puck with 3.7 seconds left in the game only to be stopped by the Rebels once again.

Good luck to the Ice Dogs as they continue their round robin play.  It has been an interesting couple of weeks and both teams will be happy to face some new opponents.

Just remember boys, today's game was brought to you by the letter "W"
