WARDELL Rewarded for Strong Hustle and Back-Checking
The TCDMHA "Homelife/Bayside Realty" Atom Girls Rebels played one of their bestgames of the season on Sunday, as they took on the Owen Sound Ice Hawks in leaugueaction.
The Rebels carried the play much of the game, generating numerous scoring chances, but were unable to get one past goalie Arenn Osadzuk, who earned the shutout for the home team. Equally strong in net was Rebels' goalie, Grace Vokes, as she turned away all Ice Hawks shots until the third period, when Lauren Radbourne
scored on a breakaway. Radbourne would add another goal in the period, as would Mercedes Culbert, as Owen Sound went on to take the exciting game 3-0.
Janna Wardell earned player-of-the-game for the Rebels for her hustle and strong back-checking.
The Rebels travel to Orangeville this weekend for the Sweetheart Tournament.
