Great weekend at the Pink on the Rink tourney Dec 3-5!

A great weekend away with our Moore's Meat U11 C girls this past weekend.  Friday's game one in Hensall proved to be a challenge, facing off against the Mitchell Meteors.  Mitchell netted 2 goals in the first period, and 4 in the second.  Period 3 was much tighter, ending in a 7-0 loss.  Mitchell ended up champs with no goals against all tourney.

Game 2 for the Rebels in Zurich was a much better showing.  With Harpur Ellis minding the net again she headed to the bench in the final minutes with a 2-0 lead by Stratford.   An empty netter brought the final score to a 3-0 final.  It was a back and forth game that could have easily gone either way.  Back to the motel and pool in Bayfield.

Game 3 on Saturday was another nail biter, with Arika Moffat in net for the Rebels as they faced off against the Huron Heat.  The girls were ecstatic to have Skylar Cosby join the D.
Piper Barfoot scored with an assist by Riley Stephen, to tie the game at 1 before the Heat notched two more.  With just a second left in the game Riley potted another, leaving the scoreclock at a 3-2 final in favour of the Heat.  The girls outplayed the opposition, winning puck battles but not quite getting bounces around the net.

Game 4 Saturday night back in Bayfield proved another tight match up, meeting the St. Mary's Rock.  With a goal by St. Mary's in each of the first 2 periods, it was the Barfoot-Stephen combination again in the 3rd, with Riley assisting Piper's goal at 1:42 mark.  Arika headed to the bench for the extra attacker, but 2-1 stayed the final score. Great effort by all and a big thank you to the coaches and bench staff for your leadership and positivity.
We finished Top 7!!!

What a great weekend of team bonding by players and their families!
Thanks to the South Huron association for putting on such a well organized tourney.
