Tied the First Period, Won the Third Period
The Township of Chatsworth "Howell Transport" Bantam LL played the Walkerton Capitals on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Walkerton Arena. This was the first game of the season for both teams and they were ready to get down to business. The weather outside was warm but the action inside the arena was warmer still!!
Javier Koeslag was in net for the Rebels and he demonstrated that he is no stranger to facing the action between the pipes. Both teams had some good scoring opportunities in the first period but the goalies kept the nets clean. 0 - 0 at the end of one.
Walkerton did all of the scoring in Period 2, finding the net at 11:01, 9:22 and 1:05. 3 - 0 at the end of two. The Rebels created some good opportunities but the Capitals did not allow them to "capitalize" on them.
The Rebels regrouped for Period 3 and showed that they were not out of the game. Walkerton scored their fourth and final goal at 13:30. Aiden Callahan-Cummins scored for the Rebels at 9.27, assisted by Emmett Jackson and Jackson Greig. Another goal appeared to be scored by the Rebels but upon review, it was called back. The Rebels did not give up. The Rebels pulled the goalie near the final minute of play and Aiden Callahan-Cummings found the back of the net once again with 12.7 seconds left on the clock. This goal was assisted by Emmett Jackson and Brennan Snyder.
Final Score: Rebels 2, Capitals 4
Good effort Rebels!! Your passing was coming together very nicely. Continue to work on your second period.
