Another Point but no W
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels traveled to Brussels for a late game versus the Crusaders and managed to come away with a single point.
The Rebels came out a little slow and the bench was a little short due to injury and suspension. The team managed to pull it together and, at 10:45 of the first, Jake Moran buried one behind the Crusaders goalie with the help of Jordan Beirnes.
Rebels never seemed to find that extra gear and started to get into trouble with penalties in the second period. Just before the mid-way point of the second, the Crusaders capitalized on a Rebel penalty to even the score at 1 all.
Rebels couldn't manage to capitalize on any of their powerplay opportunities and the buzzer sounded to end the third with the score still tied at 1.
The Rebels gave Blyth Brussels their first point of the regular season while adding one more for themselves.
Wingham Silverstick is November 10th to 17th. Rebels first game is Monday November 11th 6:15 versus Blyth Brussels and game 2 is November 12th @ 6:15 versus Flesherton. Rebels should be back with a full healthy squad so fans should be in for some excellent hockey if the players stay out of the box (and stands) and put the puck in the net.
Go Rebels Go!!!
