The
TCDMHA Chatsworth Legion Branch 464 Peewee Girls HL hosted the Walkerton
Capitals on Saturday morning in Keady.
The game was a real barn burner with the Rebels coming out on top 5-4!
Walkerton opened the scoring early in the 1st period but the Rebels responded late in the period as Madison Barfoot tied it up, assisted by Wren Jones. The Capitals pulled ahead in the 2nd period and expanded their lead in the opening seconds of the 3rd but again, the Rebels responded when Miss Barfoot scored her second of the game assisted by Austin Ceaser and Ally Dunn. Kylie Hesch scored midway through the 3rd to tie it up with the assist by Tina Johnson. Miss Johnson poked one in a couple of minutes later assisted by Kylie Hesch and Keira McMann and put the Rebels in the lead 4-3. With less than a minute to play, Walkerton tied it up at 4 apiece. But it’s not over til its over and, with only 5 seconds left on the clock, Miss Barfoot got her 3rd goal of the game giving the Rebels the win!
Shaila Wellwood gave another mind-blowing performance between the pipes for the Rebels.
The Rebels play again on Monday December 10th at 7pm when they host the Saugeen Storm at Keady. GO REBELS!
