HAT TRICK OR TREAT!
The Chatsworth Legion Branch 464 Peewee Girls HL hosted the Saugeen Storm last night in an exhibition game at Keady Arena.

The Rebels were on fire in the 1st period.  Kassie Hesch opened the scoring early on assisted by Madison Barfoot.  Tina Johnson scored two more unassisted in the first and Miss Barfoot closed the period with a goal assisted by Wren Jones. The excitement continued into the 2nd period and Ally Dunn scored unassisted at the halfway mark.  Then Kassie Hesch scored her second of the game unassisted.  Saugeen Storm rallied back and scored their first goal in the 2nd period.  Miss Johnson answered and made it a hat trick with her third unassisted goal of the game in the final minutes.

The Storm scored again in the 3rd but the Rebels kept the pressure on.  Miss Dunn scored her second goal of the game assisted by Keira McMann.  Rachel Sweiger got a pass from Miss Johnson and sent a shot from the point scoring for the Rebels.  Miss Johnson scored the Rebels final goal of the game, her fourth unassisted, with 4:43 left on the clock.  The real highlight of the game was when the Rebels all tapped their sticks on the ice in “applause” for the Storm goalie in recognition of an unbelievable save on a hard slap shot.  A true display of great sportsmanship!

Shaila Wellwood gave a stellar performance from start to finish and got the win in her first ever appearance as goaltender.

The Rebels hit the road for their next regular season game this Sunday November 4th at 3:15pm when they face the Kincardine Kinucks.  GO REBELS!
