“Lo-Jack” hijacks the game with a 3-point night!
Last Sunday’s game against the South Bruce Blades at home in
Markdale took a few minutes to kick in to high gear, but when the TCDMHA Power
Workers’ Union Midget LL Rebels finally found the “turbo” button that got their engine fired up, they did not let up on the accelerator until the finish line.
The Rebels raced through the first period like the yellow flag was waving on the NASCAR track. They were driving hard, but both sides ended up maintaining their position; the Rebs didn’t gain ground on the Blades, but they didn’t lose any, either. Then, at six minutes into the 2nd period, the team made their move to take the lead. Tiki Stockwell unloaded a clapper, assisted by defenseman “Lo-Jack” Kivell, that found the back of the net. Three minutes later, “Lo-Jack” set up Pearce Lacey for the Rebel’s second goal of the night. Then, “Lo-Jack” took matters into his own hands for goal #3, putting one home unassisted. The second period ended with the good guys up 3-0 over their opponents.
The Blades scored a few minutes into the 3rd period, but the Rebels made sure that would be all the damage they would do. Talmon Ash put in a nice insurance marker, fed by Landon Heathers, to close the game with a decisive 4-1 win. The victory put the Rebels squarely in 2nd place, three points behind the division leaders with a game in hand. Way to go, Rebels!
